Yeah, last year when I was on pit, we were at a competition and we had a visual right before our Viva las Vegas song which was pretty much one big mallet feature. so I'm doing the snappy visual, I lost my grip on one of the mallets and it went flying into the stands. We didn't have our mallet bags yet so I had to play my ENTIRE mallet solo with one hand and try so hard not to laugh.

Another thing since everyone talks about bass drum stuff. This year I tripped over a sousaphone cause it was laying in the middle of the floor and I couldn't see it. I tripped over it and my bass drum wnet rolling and everyone started laughing, me included. We laughed and laughed and then we noticed the bell had sliced me open pretty bad, but we kept laughing until the band director walked in and freaked out cause I was gushing blood. But anyway, now I have a group of people who doesn't let me forget that and every no and then, they walk up and tell me about the dangers of "wild Sousaphones"

Marching in a parade in New Orleans (Lots of people) we were playing one of our cadences. This particular cadence had some dancing and stuff in it. We jump from side to side while still going forward. Well, clumsy me, i step into a hole, lose my balance, and fall on my face, in front of maybe 50? 60 or so people? Certainly not fun. I cut my hand up, and my knee hurt the rest of the rout.

The other day I walked straight into a pole. I was alright, just really embarrassed. There was a group of kids standing right there who kept asking "Are you alright? Are you okay?" Now I've got a really cute scab on my knee just in time for the homecoming dance ;]

We were doing a warm-up with the pit right before half-time, and a bunch of people gathered to watch. I made the mistake of clicking off with marimba mallets, and one snapped in two right as we started.

My band's show this year was half marching, half pit, for the drumline. Right after performing at one of our competitions, I proceeded to put on my hat. As I bent down again to pick up my drum, my hat fell off, and when I bent down to pick up my hat, my drum fell off! I don't think anyone noticed, but I still felt pretty stupid at the time.

I was out of step at the end of the show on finals night in '91. I wouldn't have cared that much until my tenor tech pointed it out on the video and told me that's the reason we didn't win. Sucks to have an embarassing moment burned onto a DVD so everyone can see it. Now, everytime I see the DVD of that show I can't help but notice it.

I haven't had an embarrising moment yet, but I know someone who has =P
The bartiont player last year tripped and fell at the end of the second song last year one senior night.... and he was a senior. It was hilarious, and I got it on video, and since it was his senior prank, everyone started laughing and the last 3 measure was just screwed up.

I should had this next thing on video: At a state playoff pep rally we had, they had a dance contest, 2 people from every grade, the band, football team, and cheerleader. They all danced to Crank That Soulja Boy, and when it got to the band part the tuba player and a saxaphone plaer started dancing, and the next thing you know, the baritone player is running aroun in the gym like a retard.. ion purpose, and every single erson in the band was about to die laughing. He did it again later in the pep rally

Well last summer at band camp i was waking across the street with my first bass on and ran into a parking meter-that was quite fun. One night after a football game our fourth bass player ran into a trailer and fell. The funny thing is he rolled over his bass and managed to stand up with his bass still on him! Ahh-the great drumline moments...

hahaha this is the perfect topic for me. lets see i have like 3.

my rookie year at the beginning of the drum solo we moved to the center of the field. well when we got to our position my SL steps on my foot and so my shoe is like half on half off...and then the beginning of the next show we immediately moved on the first note so it comes off of course..and so like im marching around the field tryin not to bob while i march cuz i only have my right shoe..haha and i u go back and watch the tape theres like this random shoe just layin inthe front hahaha.

and then the christmas parade my rookie year. there was this part in our cadence where i held ride cymbal for the snares..and so like my strap breaks and of course the cymbal falls in like the middle of the most crowded spots of the parade.

then my freshman year marching into the homecoming game there was some random object in the road and i couldn't see it through my bass of course. so i trip over it and fall. the drum wasn't damaged just knocked out of tune, cuz i managed to soften the impact a lot.
it was a funny sight for everyone else to see. like the bass rolled a little bit and so like the harness is suspending me in mid air on top of my bass drum. XD

so yea things tend to happen around me. oh lord and now im on tenors who knows what'll happen this year.
