then i have some thats happened to my friends.
back when i went to a different school. at that school the 7th and 87th grade band members could take band twice a day if they chose to.well to see how this happened u need to know the layout...theres and upstairs portion to the BR uniform room etc is up there. and so the drum major stand leans up against the stairs which are directly behind the timpanis. and so we're in there and one of my friends in the 8th grade band knocks the DM stand in to the timpanis. oh yea i thought he was gonna die as did he and everyone else.
then my 8th grade year my HS band marched in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Chicago. well during one of the practices for it my SL really had to tinkle and my BD wouldn't let him. so after a while my SL decides he can't hold it any poor and tinkles on himself.

so in winter of 07 i played cymbals. we were practicing (thankfully) and the cymbalse had to rotate a huge circle in 12 counts while doing a spray visual. our floor was double sided that year and the circle was right at the seam (the seam always bubbled up) so im going backwards at about 176-180 around this circle and as soon as i hit the seam i fall on my back. normally this wouldnt have been bad but i had cymbals strapped to my hands and i landed so hard that i inverted a brand new pair of plates

I have two. The first is passing out at a parade, landing on my instrument face-first, breaking my nose and getting carted off in an ambulance while the entire band stared at me.
The second was in indoor. I played aux last season, and we had this big, behemoth rack that constantly fell over if you didn't balance it right. So, there I am behind the rack, and it starts tipping towards me. I grab it before it falls, but it's heavy, and I couldn't really hold it forever. So I scootch down to where the wheels are and try to adjust them so it's more balanced. I get one foot on the right wheel, and for some reason, I think I can hop up, kick the other wheel into position, and when I land, I can push the rack back up. Well, I jump, and of course the rack crashed down on me, crushing me and hitting me in the face with cymbals and toms. The entire ensemble is on the floor laughing as I lie there, my mouth bleeding. It was pretty funny, I had to laugh too. Nothing was damaged except my dignity.

Here's mine....
Setting: Summer - 2002 Centerville, Ohio.
If you have seen the Boston Crusaders show, you would know that the battery came in and set the drums down after the opener (appalacian spring). Well, at that show, we finish the opener, go through the ballad and production piece without a hitch. Once the Production Piece was over, we kneel down, put our drums on, put on our shakos, and start the drill for the closer.
This was the last show i wore my eyeglasses. What happened was, While i was putting on my drum, my glases fell off, and i had to make a quick choice...whether to pick up my glasses and leave the shako on the floor, OR put the shako on, and lose my glasses. By the time i chose, the bassline was already 8 counts into the move. So needless to say, i picked up my glasses and worked my way to my spot...
During the whole closer i hear "hahahahaha!" "OMG dude haha" 2nd and 3rd bass were laughing at me...I had buddies marching Kiwanis Kavaliers and when we spoke to them before retreat started they said "we were watching and i was like 'where's Toe's shako?' ". So they made fun of me also. -_-
The staff, nor my friends didn't leave that alone for the rest of the summer...In fact, I still hear about it every now and then.

Lol well it was parent night in band camp my freshmen year. XD The nut who wrote our drill hass me going halfway across the field in 8 counts (at 140 bpm). lol My idiot friend left a pole (one that has markers for step sizes, or for painting field ect.) in the middle of the field from earlier that day. I trip over the pole, Bach stradivarius trombone goes flying, I do a backflip like manuver, catch trombone, get hit in nose by F attachment tuning slide (If you dont play trombone - this hurts...), develop bloody nose, and still make my spot on time and on step. So Hardcore... lol

Well we had an afterschool practice just with cleaning sets for the drumline. I decided to be the first person out seeing as how I was the captain. This practice however was right at four, about five minutes after school gets out. So at about 3:50 I had already changed out into my shorts, shoes, and practice shirt. What I do however is take off my shirt and tie it over my head and help fight off the heat in south Texas. I'd done this all year, and the rest of the drumline caught on, and we were the infamous section that was half naked all the time. This all was only around in the band, and the rest of the school was unaware of the whole thing. So the bell rings and I start my way out to the field which happens to be through the bus pick up area. There are already like 100 people out there, and most of these kids aren't exactly the most kind and friendly bunch. I walk out the doors with the Pearl tube carriers, and well am pretty much exposed. Everyone turns around just to see me walking out, and then the assistant principal happens to catch the sight. She then turns on he megaphone and proceeds to tell me to get dressed. Now more kids have walked out just in time to hear her and see me keep walking to the field by myself. If I didn't feel cool enough the buses started loaded up and left from the same place, and all of them got to gawk at me standing in the middle of that field by myself for at least five minutes. Twas a fun thing to remember and hear about the next day.....

hmm another one i came up with. it didn't happen to me, but to my fellow tenor player.
my rookie year, we were in the middle of a stand tune, Low Rider i believe, and our 3'rd bass came off the harness and went tumbling down the stands. good thing basses are only on the 2nd one.
basically the way this happened..he had the hooks facing him and so the drum slowly vibrated off as we went through played. it was pretty embarassing for him i could see it in his face haha.
