I live in Grand Island Nebraska and I'm definately going to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Mr. Falcone is their instructor and he is an amazing teacher. Not to mention UNL has one of if not the best drumlines in division 1. but yeah, definately Nebraska. Not to mention the awesome crowds we get at the football games.
You too should check out UNL they have a lot of opportunities.

I wouldn't mind Texas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, or Florida. Auburn is not much for their line, but the school has what I want, and playing will be good enough.

I wish, but I'm going to either Berklee or Eastman College of Music, so they don't have bands there.
Oh well, at least there's music!

I wouldnt go to Eastman. John Beck is retiring. Or is he already retired? I can't remember but its not worth going unless he would be there.

He's retiring? That sucks...
Berklee is my first option anyway. I'd still consider Eastman though considering my mom went there.

Why is Berklee your first choice? JW why you want to go there.

Because it's a lot more contemporary for one thing. I'm a big prog-head, and a lot of prog players on any instrument have gone there, so I figure I'd fit in better.
It seems more easygoing.

WT (West Texas State Uni.). Don't worry, it's not a very "heard of" school. It's big, though, here in West TX. It's got a real good music program there, as well as a marching band and drumline. Plus, it's like 5 hours away from home. I'm mainly going there because my mom went there, every BD from my town went there, and I just feel at home there...for a college. Going for Music Ed. and...I'm contemplating over Composition or (perc.)Pedagogy. Haven't decided that part yet.

If you are going to college in Florida, I think the University of Central Florida is the best overall percussion experience any college has to offer. The pedagogy is a copy of UNT, but updated and improved, and Jeff Moore and Kirk thuper are the teachers there and do a great job. The percussion studio has graduated many successful percussionists and the drumline is always good. The kind of people that are in the studio; the snare tech for Crown, front ensemble tech for Teal Sound, tenor tech for Boston graduated from the studio, many band directors in the Orlando area graduated from the studio, and Jeff taught and wrote for Madison many years and Kirk marched Star and won Timpani I&E. It is a really good program; the best in Florida.

I think i will play in the marching band drumline for college but i will not chose the college only because it has a good drumline. Whatever college i go to i will most likely play for them.

University of Utah, but i wish it was competitive. I think Utah Valley University (formerly Utah Valley State College) is doing a winterline for the first time in 2008, so that's where i'll get my competitive appetite whetted.

University of Utah? I'm the son of an alumnus; they have a fantastic engineering school. I'm going to NC State University this fall, where I'm not doing marching band. Engineering scholarships are generally only given to sophomores, since it's expected that a good many Chem-E students will change majors, so I've gotta have stellar grades my first year. College bands (especially the one at NCSU) don't have the demand for excellence that I'm used to, and I'm afraid I'd be spending too much time getting frustrated while I should be studying. I may consider marching my sophomore year, hopefully after getting some DCI experience.

Morehead is a definite for people in my area. But, for me, i don't really plan to go there. I really want to go to Berklee in Boston MA. It's a good school for people who pursuit in stringed instruments.

I've got a scholarship to Pittsburg State University, and im gonna play in they tenor line. They arn't amazing (so says the band director.) but I went to pitt for 3 reasons 1.Great Campus 2. only school with gorrila for a mascot 3. its the only other school I applied for (LSU is to far away and I would have had to pay out of state tuition.)
yeah but Im going for a music education/composition major.
