Any body out there have a really cool double-stop exercise, possibly one that is based on a scalar pattern, so that you can transpose it?

I am a little bored with the same old 4,3,2,1 chromatic octaves/intervals...

The first time I heard it, Cadets pit did an old Ah-Ha tune called "Take on Me" as a double stop warm-up. I thought it was really cool, so I hacked it out and showed it to my kids. They were hyping on it.

If you know the tune, it is the main synth melody part played in octaves.

You could really use the whole thing as a full ensemble thing if you wanted to take it that far.

Here is the whole thing in a midi version. If you open the midi file with Finale, it will notate everything out for you. Then just make your own arrangement. Timpani and Chimes, the whole 9 yards. Have fun.

Oh my god dude!

Did you notate all this out yourself?

If you did, that's really good!

ha! I'm just listening to it again and it's so funny sounding!
Great job though, and I'm definitely going to use this somehow!

No, I didn't write the midi file, I don't have that much time on my hands! LOL

It is still a good version of the tune, but the sixteenth runs that are in the original are not included in this version, and when they are, they are incorrect. I'd go back and listen to the original and rip the sixteenth runs. They are a cool part too.
