What does it mean when the scores say "Fusion" for cymbals?

Also "Orch"...because I see that, then I see CC (crash cymbals)

Gaaaah, so confused...

orchestral crash is usually a horizontal open crash.

CC is probably a crash choke, but it could mean a basic crash, depending on who wrote it.

Not sure what a fusion is...maybe a sizzle or something.

That's what I would assume...but who knows?

Thanks.

Got this from the Ziildjian website.

Fusions - In the vertical parallel position, the cymbals are loosely pressed together to obtain a sustained sizzle, and then are gradually brought to a horizontal position, while slowly pulling the hands apart in a slide like motion across the body.

This and more at Zildjian - U

Sounds like a slide choke.

Fusion crashes - When you make the crash, relax your hand slightly and hold the cymbals loosly against each other while sliding the top cymbal away from you. WHen the top cymbal is almost to the edge of the bottom cymbal then pull back quickly to vacuum lock the cymbals.

The sound is like a slightly open hihat which is struck then closed with the foot.

hope it helps. It's a little harder to describe than I first thought.
