that reminds me.. back in 5th grade before i had even joined band. i had like the same teacher two periods in a row so late 6th and the entire 7th period i could see the band out on the field during marching season. so during that time i would watch from my position. kinda off topic but it is what got me interested in band in the first place

iono... i personally thought snare was too restrictive and it eventually got boring. tenors are more open and they just sound cooler in my opinion

Blue Devils Quadlines have always amazed me. I grew up watching them and I swore to myself that I would make their quadline after such great lines like 95 and 04.

I played tenors because I hate my back. ;-) Lol, I think it was cause I played drum set and when I was introduced to our drumline about 2 years ago, when they were so bad it was almost not a drumline lol. But this year we've really evolved into quite a good line, 11 BD's, 4 snare's, 6 tenors, 8 cymbals, myself and a another quadist who also made me want to join.

Hmm that's actually kind of odd 11Bd's 6 Tenors But only 4 snares thats different. But what made me want to play quads... Hmm. Well it was back in 8th grade actually i had to play them becuase no one else really could. But ever sense freshman year I wouldn't dream of playing anything else.

I started off on bass freshman year, because I was pretty bad at drumming at that point. I started practicing, and ended up trying out for snare for the winter season. They decided to put me on tenors, and I was just happy to get off bass (no offense to any bass players, just that in my school the bass line sucks). I started to really get into it, more than snare. I'm glad I made tenor instead of snare, scrapes are mad fun to play :P

I really had a tough decision at one point deciding on snare or tenors but once i got to band camp i realized that tenors was what i truly wanted. i like the multiple sounds and the movement instead of just in one position like snare. i think playing snare would bug me because its not a "musical note" in the sense that its not a speicific note like a B flat or something. i do like the different possiblities and sounds on tenors.
