Basically I was put on the tenors because the drumline i'm on runs by who has been marching longest.

I wanted to play tenors when I saw DCI for the first time last year. I was enthralled by the musicality of tenors and started trying to learn some of our cadences on them. I currently play tenors in our drumline and I am entirely gratified to be playing them.

Although I'm a snare player now I began my Drum Corps Career on tenors. As to what inspired me? The first show I ever saw was Cavaliers 2000. Enough said.

When I was a Freshman in HS, I played bass. Bass has its tough spots but I wanted more of a challenge. I was interested with tenor since I thought of it as more of a logical challenge rather a rudimentary one. I tried it and I was hooked and ever since then, thats what I've been playing.

On a tag day to raise money, before the season and drumline auditions, I was pretty muched volunteered to play tenors due to the lack there of. I was in pit the previous season and had no idea what I was getting into. I had originally wanted to march 4th Bass but from then on I was in love with the quads.

Ha, I was inspired the first time I ever saw my school's band. I had no interest in band, but I saw the guy marching them, and I thought, "I don't know what the hell those are, but I really freaking wanna play them!".

So, here I am playing them now. Life is good.

It was this junior I saw when I was in 8th grade. It just looked so cool! And when I found Bill Bachman, I really got serious with it...and practice my butt off. And it all pays off.

I forgot I couldn't play traditional so I jumped on some quads during tryouts. Totally wasn't expecting to end up playing for 6 years, a season of drum corps, 3 seasons of indoor, and hopefully one more season of drum corps.

I've never wanted to do the common thing. Never liked snare much in concert band, preferred bass. Never liked to have the melody on mallets, I'd always try to harmonize. Never like marimba, vibes all the way never liked 4/4 that much 6/8. It's logical I'd take tenors over snare and bass.
