Oredered the HEavy Hitter, and it is AWESOME, but I have a couple q's to those who have the pad. What sticks do you use with it, I have found that the Hardimons are a fair bit too long for me too play with, but that may be because (second q) The cymbal stand that I use with the heavy hitter is so short because I have to take out every tier that I can in order to put the pad in. Does anyone know of any cymbal stands with much larger hole, so I can play the pad while standing up? Thanks so much!! (sorry for the longness of this message)

I have the problem as well for the stand not being high enough. I use just a standard double braced Pearl stand, but I have to put it on a chair to make it high enough, but it works. I just use regular Innovative sticks and they're just fine.

To the stick question I just use regular bass mallets it helps building you chops. Espcially for the bottom basses I know I play 5. But make sure they are the mallets you would use for your bass. For the stand I just took my pad to the local music store which at the time was Brook Mays and tried out all the stands that's what I recommend

I agree that bass mallets would be the best choice. Also, I don't know if you noticed this, but the pad will have a ringing sound when you don't play in the center. Of coarse this might be just an obvious fact that everyone knows and I'm just making a fool of myself...

i bought the biggest bass mallets i could get from Vic Firth and used those, and they really helped my chops. Helps with stick control too.

I have this pad, and I use it a lot. previous to this I would get a really bad case of "pad hands" because I was using a snare pad. I mean, I still use my snare pad, but the bass pad keeps my bass technique from going out the window.

and for the height issue, A ping pong table is the perfect height to put a small cymbal stand on.

I don't know, for some reason, I've never really likened to use the bass pad. I prefer to put a real bass on a stand and just play it, but the pad is a good option if you need to play quietly or don't have access to a drum all the time.

I'm thinking of ordering this pad. Hopefully it will be affordable.
