Some of my drumline's old traditions are disappearing... most of which I don't know about, since this year was my first. We always click sticks together before any competition, and we also put our hands on the center snare and say a prayer. In the past, we used to have this thing called an "equalizer". Basically someone puts a drumstick between a freshman's legs, and pulls it upward as hard as they can on both sides. I'm glad none of that happened this year Another thing we used to do but don't any more is go and have a barbecue in the park near our school.

well.. we always stick our clicks toghether before goin on to the field before a comp or if something went really well and such. and the basses we click our rim guards together and stuff. sign someones head when they bust it (namely tenor players).
and idk if this would count but everyone gets a nickname. and then on bus rides we always sing stupid crap like the lions sleep tonight (haha and now its a stand tune even more fun), i believe i can fly, etc.

at every football game and competition, after we warm up in our arc, we always fall in for a prayer, and we have to be touching someone, the we all put our hands in and say, "BAND OF GOLD"
Also at senior night, one of the seniors always "trips" and falls at the end of the second song. HILARIOUS!!!
at the end of band camp, just before the cookout/performance, we have upperclassmes vs. underclassmen water gun fight, but with a twist. We both start out at the 40 yard lines, then the band diretor gives a way to march, forward, backwards, etc, and we have to do it perfect, and if we dont, the other "team" get to go 5 yard up, and the first to get within 5 yads of the other get 1 free shot, then it breaks all apart into frshmen vs upperclassmen, and the eventually a fre for all.... fun fun
there are prolly a few more, but i can't remember, it's been awhile since maching band, BUT IT IS COMIN UP NEXT MOTH WOOOO

Well, about half of our drumline when stretching are like in a row. And we have random moves and stretch styles that we have syncronized and do before each stretch. Its kinda random but lightens up the mood and they are actually really good streches.
Also, before a really important performance, the drumline after warming up gets in a huge huddle, puts there arms around everyone and I (or whoever the section leader was) yells out directions and we sort of "Shimmy" in that direction. Its always funny when someone falls over.
Oh and one more, the trumpets will randomly before a performance or a run through yell "TRUMPET KNIGHTS!" its kinda odd

We huddle in a circle and sing our parts the night of finals. It's hilarious when the basses do it well.

Can't remember if I already posted here and I'm to lazy to look.
Right before we go on, the drumline always gets together and does a little prayer. Of course I ask at the beginning of the season if anybodys uncomfortable with it, but we've never had anybody who is so it's all good.

Started one today at a competition, we take an dead head and play frisbee with is =p.
I have no idea why it is so fun, but it's so much more than just regular frisbee. I'm thinking of using the same head and writing how we did at each competition on it The trumpet section in my band got their hands on an old quad head and played frisbee with it until they threw it up on the roof. I yelled at them a bit later on because it wasn't broken and was in storage in case we needed it. And we usually will get a drum head per senior and everyone will sign it and we give it to them at the marching band banquet at the end of the season.

On the last day of band camp we get up at 5am and go through everyone's cabins playing cadances. Lovely way to wake people up
