It's weird, after playing for extended periods of time, my middle knuckle on my index finger of my right hand becomes sore... Does anyone else experience this, and if so, what's the remedy?

make sure your technique is correct.

look in a mirror, video yourself, have someone watch you.

Everyone does something a little different in their stroke, and sometimes that not a good thing

Its either your technique is wrong or your fingers get sore from playing. Mine will get sore if I play for awhile.

That used to happen to me, but I realized that it was from gripping the stick too tight (even though it didn't feel like I was gripping too tight). I switched over to a more arm technique, and relaxed my index finger considerably, and the pain went away.

It usually happened when I would practice double-stroke rolls, or play something rudimental at a fast tempo. You just need to learn how to use each fingers strength equally, rather than just using your index and thumb to bring out a clean roll.

true. little bubbles form in the pockets of your finger joints, and eventually removes all fluid/cushion . . . or something like that. look it up on wikipedia.

Yeah I had that too. It usually happened when I was playing rolls as high as I could. It was because I was gripping the stick to tight. Loosen up your grip a little and play more relaxed. Don't play higher than you are able.

Technique is veryyyyy important as well as the pressure you use for each of those fingers. its essential you correct them for if the problem continues and you dont fix it, it could ruien you hands
