Hey,
Ok, I'm gettin a eight or sixteen measure solo in our show this year an di need some tips on some visuals that dont hinder my playin. I've got the traditional backstickin wit the double stroke incorporated pretty easy but i need some more stuff that will look good as well as sounds awsome. Plus I also wanna show the caption head of the cavies what I got. If ya'll got some tips holla at me.

Damn I wish I could show you what I have come up with on a video or some [censored] but I don't have one oh well, I can't explain it anyway but a good one is when you finish the thing go back to set and bring the closer stick up so you have an "L" like shape and then turn your wrist up and then turn it like your knocking on a door and catch the butt end in traditional, sounds weird, I know.

You could throw in some switches (go from match to trad, or vice versa). On;y do it if you can play both grips really well, though - you don't want to look like a fool.

see, i can do all that stuff, stick flips, switches, backstickin, three-way backstickin. By my section is just so inexperienced that i just need some simple stuff for them. Everything i can do, they just look at me like i'm crazy.

Maybe, umm....playing on each other's drum?

One visual that was done during the drumbreak the year before I joined was pretty cool. I never learned it, so I don't know the actual rhythm. I'll try and explain it -

Hit the drum with both sticks. Then, raise the left stick perpendicular to the ground. With your right hand, hit the person's stick who is standing on your right side. Make sense? I'll see if maybe we can get a video, eventually.

BHS, you mean the thing in Drumline? That is wicked cool. I incorporated it into one of our cadences like 5 min after seeing it on Drumline.
