hey guys, someone was using my pad a few weeks ago and it fell and a nice sized chip came out of one of the corners. do you think i could reconstruct the corner with wood putty?
it's an old-school one with the yellowish soft side, not the gray ones. thats the reason i don't wanna just buy a new one. i've had this pad forever and i wanna save it. plus, i think worn out real feels are pretty sweet. trll me what you think.

Yeah, that really shouldn't be a problem. I saw the gnarliest old Real Feel at Surf auditions last weekend... it barely had any wood left overlapping the edge of the pad at all. Played incredibly nice, though.

yeah the real feels do get a nice feel with age. I have one and it is awesome, hasn't chipped too much tho. you could probably easily fix it.

This doesn't really help your problem but I put a couple layers of duct tape around the wood to help and prevent the wood chipping.
So maybe try the putty then putting some duct tape over it?

Don't worry about it. It won't look out of place when you eventually get more big ol' nicks taken out of the particle board.

Reel Feels are great when they are beat up, ..shows character & practice time. I have an old one I refuse to get rid off I bought used at a music store. They are still good for chops especially the double-sided.

this happened to me, my friend was playing on my old real feal, and he was done and jokingly threw it at me, i didnt think he would but it landed right on one of the corners, and there was a massive chunk missing but anyways,

i took the pad made a boarder around the broken part with tape, and filled it with wood glue, it took like a week to dry completely, but when it was done i just colored it with sharpie, and it looks pretty good.
ill post pics later
