Our school uses Pearl Championship Magnesium Harnesses: http://pearldrums.com/chamcarr.asp

Our school has our harnesses outside our uniform because it doesnt fit inside. Is there any way to make the harnesses fit? SCV uses these harnesses, so im not sure if its becuase our uniforms are too small. any ideas?

Those should be fine, they're a little bit SMALLER than the ones we use. You generally need to size your players with the harness on. =P It looks much better, I think to have some bulky looking jackets than a totally out of place harness. So yeah, just up the size of the uniforms for your snares and tenors and you'll be golden.

Like drumicide said, snare & tenor drummers are usually fitted for uniform jackets with their harnesses on. You get a slightly larger jacket to make sure it fits over the harness.

Because of the way most harness clips attach, bass drummers typically wear their harnesses over the jacket.

Get fitted with the harness on. We always do when we first get fitted. Ask your director or whoever is incharge of uniforms if the upper battery may be refitted.

For some reason I seem to remember a corp (Maybe it was the Devils) who had either holes in their jacket, or a panel to cover up the harness in the back. Either that or it blended in VERY well.

just to let you guys know, being a drummer, he meant to hit the rims, it's part of the effect. It changes it up a bit.

ya BD put holes through their uniforms for the bass line. It looked very good...a minor detail, but it looked a lot better.

poking holes through the uniform is a good choice for corps that have bigger uniform budgets, or indoor drumlines that will only use the uniform for a season. In a high school marching band, poking a hole in the uniform of the bass drummers is not such a great idea since someone else will be wearing those uniforms the next year.
