I personaly love the scot johnson signature sticks. my line uses the ralphies so i am forced to use them and dont get me wront they are great but the scot johnson ones just produce more of a crack in the snares and i just love it. Also for some more color the scojo practice sticks are fun to play around with.

Every line I've been in has used the scott johson signature sticks, but my personal favorite is the Innovative Percussion Paul Rennick sticks. I get a more consistent and powerful sound out of those than anything else I've used.

Overall, I think that IP is underrated for their quality. They always fall as a second-hand shadow to the bigger name that is Vic Firth. However, they are starting to make a name for themselves though as you see more and more lines transitioning to IP.
If at all possible, avoid the general music stores when purchasing sticks. It's common knowledge that the companies send their inferior wood to these chain stores that get the rock drum set guys at the back counter to dish out the field series stuff. Both companies make very good sticks, so generalizations made from grabbing a single pair of crap wood are crap themselves. Test them out before you buy them.
So to contribute to the subject, I'd go with IP.
Casella's are great. I've played with them in outdoor and WGI. Long beefy stick, but great rebound makes up for it. Will amplify clenliness but also dirt.
Kuhn's are also fantastic. I picked up a pair a few weeks ago and hacked around for a while. They're a little bit lighter than the Casella's but they still have some good weight. The bead is a lot more average than the Casella also.
Just depends on preferences and these are mine. I will have to note that I've found my IP sticks to withstand a little more action than my Vic Firth's. Paying for college is enough so the little more I can save, the better.
