So all my life (one year, but i practice a lot) i have played on small block tenors. Now the corps nearest my vicinity (namely the Crusaders and Spartans) I believe use big block tenors. Will it be hard transitioning to the larger sizes, seeing as i have never played on them before, or will it be relatively easy to switch over, and just a matter of making my movements a little larger? I plan to do one of these corps within 2 or 3 years.

It's an adjustment, but once you get used to the new spacing, I'll bet you find the drums easier to get around.

Going from big block tenors to small drums, though... That's a pain in the @$$.

You'll hit your share of rims in the beginning but it shouldn't take long to make the adjustment. Most people adapt fairly quick so I wouldn't worry about it.

I hate playing on small block drums. Big block all the way. I have a set of my own that I picked up from a DCA corps that arent even full block, but closer than small block. They are 6-10-10-12-13 and are pretty comfortable on the transition. The miniscule 8" drum on most small block is just flat out awkward. As with most things, its no big deal to really adapt, but technique changes from smaller tenors to larger ones.
