This looks really fun and a really good idead i just made a corps and set my captons...and so far works great... :P

I'm going to give this a go for the very first time...I just need to figure out what to do now..haha

Everything works good for me, I love fantasy drum corps.

So far so good. If everything goes as planned, will it be up and running by next Friday? If not, The Marauders Drum and Bugle Corps will have to go inactive for 2008, due to a REAL drum corps commitment.

i created a corps and so far everything works great. if this works i think it is a great idea and will be quite fun.

Well, it's worked the past four or five years. I don't see why it won't work again :p

What do you want to know? It is fairly straight forward. You have X amount of points (depending on division) and you choose your captions based on point values. Point values are determined by the results from the previous year (example Blue Devils won drums so they are 25 points with 2nd being 24, etc, etc, etc). Each caption works the same way. Obviously, there are good ways to separate your points and bad ways, but that is for everyone to figure out, not for me to explain here. Your corp competes against everyone else to see who is the best...just like "real" DCI. There are a few more details about how many times you can change your point choices, but that is a general overview.

Oh, and you are not locking yourself in to anything. If you sign up and don't have time, then your group will go on without you and you don't have to give it a second thought. That is not the approach that we prefer (it is more fun when people actually try to win) but it has been done in the past.


Question for Josh: is there going to be a link added to our "my stuff" (or something similiar) where we can go directly to our corps homepage like we have had in the past?

I can't reregister my corps because I get some goofy syntax error message when I push the submit button.

How have people picked home shows already? I must have missed the memo on that. Sorry...

EDIT: One other question, no big deal, but just curious- is the past history link going to be available? It's cool being able to keep track of the records year to year.

To get a home show, I believe you must have the show you wanted added to your schedule. That show must be in your home state (the state you said your corps is located). Then you can select it as a home show in the appropriate box.

He is correct about the home shows. And yes, past years will be coming back. I'm working on getting the necessary scripts functioning first.

I have a question- I see now that you can only make 2 GE caption changes and 6 for the others... if someone wins an extra caption change, do they get to select which caption it is for?

Negative. As it says, "We will give those... an additional regular caption change." By regular, it means non-GE.

what happened? why do I have to register again? Was my DLOFDC license revoked again !___!
