Our drumline wants to get t-shirts of our own, this year. Something to separate us from the band. We know what we want, but not how to get it. On the front we want the name and year of our drumline, our name and a pic of our drum. (custom for every shirt) On the back, we want a really awesome drumline picture of somekind. . . ya know. . . . just something that gets your attention. (the back will be the same on all the shirts, of course) I've tried looking around and on the interent for custom t-shirt companyies, but none of them have any "drumline" pics or art. As for that matter, no one has any that I've found. Any advice, . . like where to find drum art or pics, . . . or another way to do it?! Thanx!!

We had this problem whenever we tired to make our band shirts....and our Drum Major shirts for that matter. What we did was find a design we like (maybe you can someone to draw it), and take it to whatever company you are having do it. Just a warning though...picture prints are going to cost a pretty penny. I'll get on my comuter at home and see if I can create something for you guys to use.

There are all kinds of places online like, www.t-shirts.com, try searching for ''make your own t-shirt'' and actually a bunch of sites come up. You might want to try a local sports shop too though, I know the one near my old hs did just about all the shirts/jackets/hats/you name it, for the sports teams. Our indoor drumline got shirts and stuff from there too, a few years back. So that might be an easier option. Usually you can get whatever lettering you want and if you make a solid design it can be really cheap to silkscreen whatever you want on them, but works mainly for graphics. If you want actual "pictures" there are places that do that for you (usually a place that does photo novelties with a heat press). I think the online places do that too, but you'll have to look around a bit.

yeah, well it's not really a problem finding the company for it. The problem is finding the right pictures to have them put on the shirts, cause chances are, they won't have anything we can use. As far as pictures, I'm talkin' about graphics, not photos.

It's probably going to be pretty expensive to have a different picture on the front of each t-shirt.
Our line has always had their own t-shirts. We have one white and one black (for away games and home games) and we have a baseball cap. The shirts have a little drum on the left breast (if you're wearing it) and "Centennial High School 2003" above the drum. On the back it says Centennial High school, then in big lettering it says "Drumline". That's about it. On the baseball caps we have "Centennial Drumline" on the front and then "Roswell, GA" on the back. We don't wear the caps though because we're not really allowed to during most of the year (although we could get away with it because the police officer at our school loves our 'line).

I saw one school that had all the same t-shirts, it said the school name on the front with a drum (kind of like ours), but on the back it had the instruments and then every person who plays each one (like all the tenor players, snare players, etc.) It was okay.

But it's a lot less expensive and more practical to have the same design on each t-shirt and just change the year for each year.

Come up with your own and have your local shop silkscreen it. I'd recommend a line drawing of something as one-color is cheaper than multicolor.

For best results, ask the place you are going have them printed what the procedure is. I'm sure they will be able to explain it to you and probably give you some tips.

Thanx, guys. We may not be able to have something different on each shirt. It's just an extra we're thinkin' about. (an expensive extra)

I remember coming across a website that makes all sorts of clothes for bands, but I couldn't remember it. I found another site that makes shirts, hats, and boxers.

we designed our own shirts with a picture of each persons instrument on the back with there first name or nickname on the front it had the school logo drumline and the year and it had one of our one word sayings in quotes but we are gonna drop that. we are going to get them made and we were quoted at ~$22 for a shirt like that all cotton T white with green lettering.

Our line had shirts too. last years said Daviess County and then Drumline under that on the front. Then it had a hand symbol in the background. On the back it had a caveman lookin dude with two big sticks. It said 'DC's pride is in its product'. then we all wore flip flops and bandanas. I think thye got the shirts done locally though. Every year it changes of course.

Our's has a big cross hair on the front, with wo sticks in an X behind it. We have little graphics of bass, tenors, snare and cymbals. Slidell High Drumline at the top, our saying, "Often Imitated, Never Duplicated at the bottom in script.. On the sleeve it says what the wearer plays. On the back it says Slidell High Drumline 2003. Lists the instrument and what the person plays:
Snare:
Christine "IrishNazi" Scheller
etc...
And the instructor,if we had one. They are sweet. That reminds me, I have to get this year's made. WE only pay 15 for it. The place we go to has been doing it every year for like 10 years so they give us a low price.

Last year we had a kid whose mom was an artist, and she drew a picture of the drums for us. We put it on the back of our t-shirt with everyone's signatures, and on the front it said "YSHS Drumline 2003-2004" in the corner..

This year our sectionleader just got a dark green shirt, and put the name of our cadence on the back in Arabic, our cadence was called Gutbucket Phasheezy (We have a separate marching cadence, then for stand stuff, "Stand charts") lol Anyway, yeah we just called it Buckit, so in Arabic on the back Buckit in Arabic, the letters look like they spell f*cK it, haha.. turned out to be pretty funny in the end..

Last year out shirts had "Drumline" written on the front and a drawn picture of all the drums on the back and snare, bass, or tenors on the sleeve. They were really nice shirts. All different colors too.

Our line did that this year. we had to come up with our own designs and pics, though. but, coming up with your own pics is cool, cuz an ex-drummer drew us this rad skeleton breaking it down on the snare, and that is what is on our shirts. you can probably also go to the place where you get your letterman jackets customized and get your shirts done there.
