How will the 5 caption judging affect the beginning of the DLOFDC season??

Not really sure, since I don't know exactly how they'll be running it.

Visual Ensemble (20 Points)
Percussion 2 (20 Points)

...which I really don't agree with, personally. But that's irrelevant! I'm guessing, then, the only relevant captions until July 4th are GE Music, GE Visual, Music Ensemble, Visual Ensemble, and Percussion... and thus nobody gets any points for Colorguard, Visual Performance, or Brass until after July 4th?

I think it was mentioned in a previous thread, but the captions not being used (Guard, Vis Perf and Brass) could be done the same way the handbooks says scores are determined for corps who have not had a show in early season yet - using their early scores from the previous summer.

DCP just has you pick 5 captions (and lowered the points you get to start), then go back and pick 8 after the 4th (with the normal point allowance) - which some users might forget/not be around right on the 4th to do. Look at how many were just deleted for not picking, so I'm sure there would be some it caused problems for. Seems like it would be easier to just use the 5 from this summer and the other 3 from early season last summer (if the dates don't line up exactly, use the closest one), until the 4th where they all switch over and start being relevant.

so now that we have seen some recaps, what will we do about scoring?

I have done some recoding on the scripts to make DLOFDC as realistic and as smooth as possible, so there will be nothing like changing or re-picking of captions for anyone to worry about. No action from the fantasy directors are required. A little extra effort and time on my part is worth it to make everyone's experience that much better.

Therefor, since DLOFDC's scoring is modeled after DCI's scoring, it only makes sense that we do exactly as DCI does. We will use the 5-judge system of scoring until the 4th of July.

I have given all Visual Performance, Visual Guard, and Music Ensemble judges an extended vacation until that time.

What about corps that haven't performed yet? I still have a zero in one of my captions.
