Yea, So today we had to do a little "select band" march, and suddenly in the middle of the "parade" if you will, we got a downpour. Well, not the middle of the parade, more like before we even met.
Somehow I've gotten water in between my 8 inch tom head, I don't know how, I began noticing it, and thought it was just water underneith, and then the area got bigger before I realised I had water in the head. How do I go about draining the water?
They're remo pinstripes by the way.

That's really what it sounds like, it's not TOO terrible, but it sound's like a really light muffle, enough to annoy any veteran tenor player, but not enough for a non-percussionist to notice.
So I've just taken the head off and put it on a towel, vertically against a wall, see if I can get some of the water to run out. I mean, it had to get in there somehow, right?

Alright, So everything seems ok then, I thought the head might of been ruined.
Would the watch trick work then? Set the head near a lightbulb for a bit and help it evaporate the water?

Take it off for awhile and let it dry..I had to march through a tsunami during halftime, just take off the heads, let them dry and them put them back on, as long as they don't soak in the water for a long time they will be fine.
