Yup, despite my trouble my drumline's show, i got the inspiration for a new cadence. This one is really the second thing i've written with vdl so obviously im still learning, but anyway comments are appreciated and wanted

Do a google search "song name generator" There are several different ones that will come up with random titles...all you have to do is provide a word...(groove for example). They will give you a list of names from which to choose. Enjoy.

Seems very flat to me. First off, the majority of the thing sounds like bass solo with snare and tenor accompaniment. That trick only works for so long, then it starts to get old, just like any other trick. There's a section towards the end that grooves pretty hard, however there's nothing to really set it off from anything else, it just sort of comes, grooves a little, and then fades away. What this is really lacking is contrast. Dynamic contrast, as well as contrast between which section is featured, including some "tutti" stuff. There's some good ideas in there, just keep playing with it. I know there's another thread where I made very similar comments about a cadence... maybe it was one of yours?

ha ha. yup, it was. I know exactly what you're saying about dynamic contrast. I usually put straight dynamics with no contrast for the earlier stages of writing and add the intricate dynamic work at the last stages. I do plan to change a lot of things before posting another mp3 or whatever. The groove section at the end is a build into a snare solo right now in my head, so hopefully that will work. It could be longer, but the overall it sounds cool to me. Good bass section. Try to make a snare and tenor section. I don't know. I liked it though
