He needed to retire 2 years ago. Look at Michael Strahan. Awesome player, awesome guy, retired, no problem. Now he's happy, working in the box with somw commentators, and left the game while he was on top. Steve McNair also made a quiet, subtle retirement. Just said, "I don't think I have enough left for another season." and left.

Wow, they call that running? Lol, I just don't get why he can't just stay retired. Maybe he should think about coaching? I don't know, but he needs to find something to do. In my eyes, he could easily coach a team to a Super Bowl. But he's a little to late to play to one.

He needed to retire 2 years ago. Are you serious? He had one of the best years of his career last year. If he still has the drive and the ability then why shouldn't he play?

Every backup he's played with has learned FAR more from the coaching staff than form Brett. HOF - of course. Coach - he just doesn't have the mentality to teach others.

Given the way Aaron Rodgers has played this pre-season I don't think he learned much from Favre or the coaches. Either way it's not Favre's job to coach his backups. That's not what he's paid for. Coach - he just doesn't have the mentality to teach others. How can you make that assumption about a person who has never had a coaching position? Lots of great players turn into decent coaches. Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Steve Spurrier, Dan Issel, Mike Ditka, Cheryl Miller, Bill Russell all had respectable coaching careers.

I thought Rodgers looked fairly good in his first real action. No big foul ups, decent footwork, and good game management. Is he Brett Favre? Not yet, but neither was Favre when he started. And whether it's his job or not, great players who turn out to be coaches generally show some of that on the field during their playing careers. Kurt Warner, for example....he's ALWAYS helping to teach others around him, and will be a very good QB coach someday.

Larry Bird was a decent coach? I missed that. Issel was a great player, but only coached for a few years, only making the playoffs once. And all of the people listed there were active in teaching during their careers. Non of them had any issues with helping to develop young talent around them...Fav-ruh is not that guy. He doesn't have the patience to coach.
