Our school, and school board, hates us, we have a small band room. We need new chairs, stands, tubas, baritones, concert/pit percussion equipment, and a new snare a new quad, and the equipment to put 6" spocks and both quads we have now. We currently have 3 Pearl snare, 5 basses, and 2 quads, w/o spocks, and we found some very old keyboard percussion instrument in a closet. We have 6 sousaphones, but only 1 1/2 work (one works whenever it wants too)

We need a new bandroom too, preferably one with air conditioning.

Don't even get me started on the rest of the school

Our school gets new drum equipment occasionally, though most of our money is spent on instructors and expensive concert instruments. I would guess that our current set of marching drums is between 5 and 10 years old, and includes 6 basses, 4 snares (1 broken I think) and 3 sets of quads, plus a few spocks. All are Yamaha, and matching finish (white), though some are a bit yellow. This year we received 2 more snares and 1 set of quads, as well as a bunch of other brass and wind instruments, paid for by our school district which has an initiative to supply old bands with new instruments.

Our school's principal and staff are in love with the band, so I guess we are pretty lucky. We get a decent amount of money from the school each year, and our band room is alright.

My old high school got new drums this year (Yamaha), the previous set (Pearl), they got in '04, and the set before that (also Pearl) they got in 2000.

Seems to be a trend of getting new drums every 4 years.

They got all new pit stuff (2 marimbas, 2 xylos, bells, concert bass, chimes) in 03. The mallet stuff was all Musser, and the bass was Pearl.

New Uni's were also in 2003.

my school has had all their marching drums since it open in 2000 and we are about the 3rd school to have them so who knows how old ours are. we are already down a quad and a snare because the shells wore out. we get new concert stuff every once in a while if we desperately need it though. and we generally supply our own sticks and heads (sometimes for the heads).

Shells generally don't wear out, but they break if they're abused.

maybe "wear out" isn't the right way to put it. I just replaced a 13" on our tenors because it was ovaled beyond tunability.
