Wait till you go to a conservatory and hear people practicing Porgy and Bess endlessly.

oh geez porgy and bess. My band director was going over mallet choice with a new freshman in concert band and he was like you wouldn't hear a person play Porgy and Bess with these and he played it with the softest mallets we had. And than the hardest. But now he's getting me the music for it so i can learn it coz its awesome!

Whats really cool for recitals is when you grab some classical piece from the public domain and transfer it to your own instrument. Right now I'm working on Toccata and Fugue in Dminor by J.S. Bach (actually there is no proof he wrote that piece but thats a different story).
