I have a list of the hybrid rudiments. The list says there is thirty but one is missing. Is there only supposed to be 29 or is there just one missing? If so what is the missing hybrid?

i think you should have postedthis in the rudiment forum, but we cant help you unless you let us know where you got the list from. i can say though, that there are a whole lot more than 30 hybrids.

You can't really say that there is one "missing" hybrid. There are so many out there these days, especially since some people like to make their own. I made a hybrid list that right now has about 70-80 hybrids, so there are definately more than thirty.

Check out the rudiments forum. It is chocked full of hybrid goodness.

Does that statement look familiar? It should. Dlwebmaestro mentioned that last time you posted a question about hybrids.

I understand that you are a snare player, so you think that since you are a snare player, this should go in the snare playing section. But since tenors and basses play rudiments too, we created a whole forum for rudimental discussion...thank you. This topic will now self-destruct and big bang itself to the rudiments forum.

Well first off I haven't seen this page, my mistake. I'm just a little slow at some things.

The hybrids that I have gotten are off of the geocities site and are as follows:

parabuzzle, choo choo, chatachichi, shirley murphy, diddle egg five, cheese chain, flamacue diddle,
diddle flafla, paradiddle flafla, ratamaswiss,
triple-acue, shockadiddle, double flam drag,
chutra cheese, swiss cheese invert, malf taps, tajada, cheesecha, chut cheese, cheese cha,
flam 5 falfla, one hand flam drag,
single stroke drag, Irish five, flam beaters,
flamill drags, flaflam drag, flive a diddle,
egg beaters, book reports.

Those are all the ones that I know. I want to further my knowlege in this area and if anyone could help with any more than there already is (not just the ones in the rest of the forum) I would appreciate it.

Snarekid_27 - Don't expect that you will be given anything. Take the initative and look for it yourself. Look around the site, especially the Rudiments forum. There are quite a few of them listed and discussed there.

Get Rudimental Logic by Bill Bachman. It has about anything and everything you'd ever want to know for a low price of $15.00. I just bought it and it has a great list of hybrids, plus tips on how to perform them.

From the RowLoff website - Rudimental Logic was written for drum instructors, band directors, and drummers everywhere. The issues covered include grip, stroke techniques, quality of sound, the 40 standard rudiments, newer rudiments, the grid, and much more. The book is full of quality information and concepts for players of all levels and includes more than 170 exercises!
