our main instructor won't let us have a winter drumline cause he thinks concert band is more important. we have a winterguard during the offseason and they're really good and work hard. hopefully we can convince our main instructor to get us to make a winter line cause that would be so much fun.

My BD and percussion instructors keep saying this year is the year we'll have an indoor line, but it never seems to happen. :P

I'll just have to be satisfied with the after school percussion ensemble they're setting up, I s'pose. :O

Our school is poor, so we don't have a competing indoor drumline. We're going to do exhibitions at a few competitions, and do a thing at the spring concert. It's actually really dumb because our drill instructor wanted $5000 to write and teach for the season. The winter guard actually had to form an independent group. They all have to pay something like $250 each to pay 2 instructors and they practice at a firehouse. Indoor drumline figured it's not worth the trouble, and at least we're keeping sticks in our hands.

Those who participate in indoor drumline at my school pull double duty. Unlike marching band, indoor drumline is not a required activity, so not all of our percussionists participate. Class time is used for percussion ensembles (which everyone participates in), or for occasionally practicing with the band. (We don't waste our time when the winds are learning music.) Any indoor music is worked on at home by yourself, or in sectionals if you're lucky.

I don't know if I posted on this yet, but we don't have the people, or equipment to have a competitive one, but enough for like a small pep drumline/show thing in basketballgames or something. Our colorguard does halftime shows for basketball games

I go to a small high school, so we don't have winter percussion. But my band teacher said that by next year we may have one. I hope he's right! It would b sooo much fun! Plus we could use the ppl so we don't look so tiny next to all the giant public schools...
We also need new equipment though...

My school has had a winter drumline for several years, and a winter guard too. We only rehearse after school, and during school hours we rehearse with the rest of the concert band (I wish our director would let us work on winter drumline stuff during class time, but he doesn't.)

Our drumline this year was small (4 pit, 6 battery), so we used wind players to fill spots.
