I wish we had an indoor drumline. We do a lot of percussion ensemble after marching season, and our instructor wants us to be well rounded. There are rumors of a winter guard, though.

My high school has a winter guard but no winter drumline. I would try to get one started but too many of us are involved with the musical and/or sports including myself.

My old high school (PSJA) has had a Winter Drumline for the past two years, and locally we competed in several competitons (in the Rio Grande Valley) We received 3rd place in '04 and in '05 we were lucky to compete in two competitions. We placed 3rd in the San Benito Indoor Drumline Competition and in the other one I don't know because we didn't place in the top 3. This past year we played several tunes like: YYZ, Averis, and Piano Concierto #1. Our school didn't have any Winter Guard because there wasn't even ppl to do it.

Our school has a winter line (we call it an indoor drumline), and I found it just as fun if not more fun than outdoor (full band). It gets really loud inside though...

We have a fall marching band and then during basketball season a pep band which includes the drumline. To answer your question we don't have a winter drumline/flags. I never heard of winter guard until recently. What's the point of it?

We have a pretty successful, and very hard working Winter Guard group, but we couldn't seem to get enough interest in a Winter Drumline in the past. We will try it again this year though, and it looks pretty promising right now.
We also just started a pep band last basketball season. It was greeted very sorely from the players and spectators. They were accustomed to rap and rock being played on the speakers, and here we come with "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" lol!! It didn't work too well with our band director's style of music. We didn't use our drumline either, we just had a drumset player and that was it for drums.
