We've never had one until this year...we (well, okay, mostly one of our tenors) decided to start one up. The amount of people signing up is amazing...I'm really excited. It's gonna be great.

We have tried 2 yrs in a row....only to have half the line quit before the first competition.

And now we won't even do it at all anymore...the flags do it though.

I finally gave up trying to organize a competitive winter drumline. I always had way too many who could play battery and NO ONE who could play pit. You can't compete like that.

Ours just started, but we have one problem. There is this guy who always wants to play snare, but his ability just isnt up to the rest of the lines. Well anyway, our director decided to "give him a chance" and put him on our winterline! No offense, but he is SO BAD. Hopefully he will see his ability isnt there yet, and will decide to quit.

We are going to have our first winter drumline this year thanks to me! I told my drum captain about the winter drumline and he thought it'd be cool so he told band director who then made a sign up sheet for anyone to sign up. I hate all those wannabe drummers who sign thier names up; as if thier gaonna make it over the real drumline members! LOL woodwinds these days...

Yeah, our winterline is totaly optional. However, I myself dont see how i could last the winter (and concert season) without playing marching stuff!

Our instructor started a winter drumline competition down here. This year we'll have about at most 15 schools competiting. Hopefully it'll grow large enough to start a circuit. Before that we had no winter drumline competition for a good 400 miles.

lol. Yeah, im really glad we got one started this year. Its alot a lot of fun because now we have something to do during concert season. The only downside is that we cant go to any competitions this year, but hey, there is always next year.

This is our second year for the flags, but the first for the drumline. We are starting next week . I can't wait, but we really need it.
