I'm sorry to be writing in this forum but I am short of time. Go to http://webmayhem.net/drum and there is a short and simple but fun writing tool. You can hear and print everything you write, check it out.

bit from double post

Actually, upon further review, the program is a little weak, but still check it out if you have time.

It's from the movie Drumline, of course it's weak.

Well at least its fun for the young-ins. I am sure people starting out will enjoy it. I had fun with laying down some funky beats for a little while.

They have Pataflafla labeled wrong.

In what areas is the tool weak? Can you please elaborate..
What should the Pataflafla be labeled?

Our effort was to make the most realistic and accurate app we could, given the delivery method of macromedia flash. Development is in the works to further enhance the realism and usability of the D.R.U.M.
People are starting to get a great deal of use out of the tool and we would like to get as much feedback, positive and negative, as we can. Our vision is to build and grow the active online drumming community and build more fun, and useful, apps.
Thank you for checking it out!

The biggest problems I have with it has to do with printing.

First, there's a blue background to the page which just ate through the blue in my color cartridge (twards the bottom, it turned pink... And I only bought the thing about a month ago, with barely any color printing.). A normal white background would be much better than anything colored. And if you wanted to, you could make the printer music bigger so as to fill up the page. The blue may look cool if printed properly, but when there's a whole bunch up pink stripes at the bottom, its not so great...

The other printing issue I had was Flam Taps. They printed out rather strange... The accents didn't line up propperly (the first was on the second 16th note and the second accent didn't print) and the 3rd 16th note (the left hand flam) was just a normal 16th. There was no grace note in front of it. The grace note did print, but in the wrong spot (it printed on the next beat).

And AMC_Snare is right. Pataflaflas are labeled wrong. The stickings on the app are "R R L R" when it sould be "R L R L."

Other than those three problems I found, the program is quite fun to mess around with, if a little limiting in terms of what you can do musically but very good for a flash program in the works.

I LOVE THIS THING! I knew about it for a while, and it was cool for me, but then I lost it. This thing makes me some great music! It's awesome for a kid like me.

is the sound all jittery on other peoples computers? it really doesnt have that great of a database. the paradiddle diddle is only in 16th note form. aesthetically, it's fine, but it's not much more than another flash toy to play around with.
i'd rank it right with this: http://www.homestarrunner.com/percussion2.html

Also, this is to the person who seems to be in on working on this:
The way you speak does not seem as if you're a drummer yourself. I strongly believe that if you wanted a real good product, you'd have to either have a drummer who knows what's going on in the rudimental drumming community on your development staff, or consult someone who knows what he's doing (any percussion director at a college, or even d.c.i. vets...and i mean vets who have some experience under their belt, because even people who've marched one or two years can be a little dull.).

I guess another word to define the program is limiting. It's much easier to just download the free version of Noteworthy composer and have midi play back.
