There is girl on our line that is now a senior, and has been bass one for a while. She is poorly motivated, admitted she doesn't like to play, and last week skipped rehearsal because she was "sick." (she left school third period.) Many people in the line do not like her, and she has alienated herself from them. She has been making poor personal decisions that annoy others. Should we keep her in the line or replace. That is what I'm going to have to advise my director on. Any advice would be great.

your marching season is still going on man i wish i was you but talk to her and see what her problem is and try to work it out

replace her. Unless she's hot. Drumline's need their resident "hot chick". It's what makes it so much fun.

Yeah, she's hot. We are in indoor LHS. We have other hot players though too.

if she's a problem, then it seems that the director should've already taken care of it, but if you need to bring it up, then go ahead.

be very careful though. you'll have to word your statements in a way that show's you're bringing this up in the best interest of the line, not for yourself. Also, if you have replacements to pick from, this helps the argument.

The director knows, he actually confronted the line about it on the day she was absent from rehearsal.

Well has anyone tried to motivate her at all. I mean if she had done that there is got to be a reason. Did any of you guys tried to include her in things. There has to be a reason for the fact that she hates it.

That's right I mean what if she feels left out or something. Maybe that isone of the reasons. Maybe she is shy and I don't know doesn't want to talk or anything. Give her a chance.

Well the problem is over... she quit today. Now we need a replacement.

If she's hot keep her? LoL.... that is funny. But anywayz i would say either talk to her and see what she thinks should happen... or maybe even get the band director to talk to her. You never know.. maybe something could change. But i wouldn't just kick her off.

There has to be a reason why she quit too. You guys need to treat her like she is one of your drumline family members. There are people in my line that I cannot stand sometimes but when they are going through a rough time I kind of find out what's wrong with them and try to make it better.
