Wait, does this include those ridiculously hybrid rudiments? How about a inverted cheese 5 flammed mill ratamacue with a twist on the rocks?

but seriously I hate para-para diddles.

Para-para diddles? Do you mean double paradiddles (RLRLRR) or paradiddlediddles (RLRRLL) or something that I'm not remembering at the moment?

Anyway, I hate Inverted Flam Taps, they just feel so weird to play, and are really hard to play fast.

I'm getting better at them (I was taught they were called para-para diddles, but double paradiddles works fine too)

Oh, and I disagree about that. Inverted Flam Taps are way fun to play, and make you feel like you're actually playing something hard, but I don't have a hard time with them.

Hands down, Flam Paradiddlediddles, they're called m*therf*ckers for a reason, and why most drumcorps will never play them, they're impossible to clean.

Flam Paradiddle-diddles are easier than inverted flam taps because the inverted upstroke doesn't happen as often in Flam paradiddle-diddles. Some of us are just as good at those as we are Inverted flam taps.

G

I still claim Flam ratamacues with modern interpretation to be the most difficult rudiment to play correctly.

For me inverts come easy but the flam parradiddlediddle feels comepletely unnatural and doesn't flow nearly as well. I think it's the rhythmic pulse of the triplet feel and the fact that your hands aren't just repeating the same stroke, there's a tap then an inverted triple followed by a double tap.

I have trouble with alternating swisses(I don't know what they're actually called). The sticking would be lR R l rL L r. It's hard to get them smooth and keep from playing cheese inverts.

I can play both flam fives and book reports easily...In fact we have some of both in our show this year.

But one of our snares has trouble with flam fives so i can see why they might be difficult.

Malfs, I think they're pretty pointless, and I've never seen 'em written anywhere, but it's just one of those things that you see and say what the hell is that? and then you want to get it down so it doen't bug you.

wow, everyone makes this sound like rudiments are not fun... hey, if you are not having fun, then you are practicing wrong!!!!! All rudiments have their difficult little things, but probbably the most difficult for me are the ones with flams after rolls, triple bouncing the last note of a roll to get a flam...lots of practice there, but still fun!!! I would never say I HATE practicing ANY rudiment.

THE hardest rudiment is the Flam Paradiddles. Or even flam paradiddle diddles.
