I am in favor of visual dynamics if its used in a front ensemble in a indoor percussion ensemble, becuase i think it helps with the over all effect of the show your putting together. I am against it however in a drum corps setting becuase i don't think it's needed. There is enough playing dynamics to where visual dynamics dont make a differnece.

I am completely against it since the first time I held a pair of mallets. It is true that for indoor percussion will have some sort of visual incorporated in a show, but the playing techniche could be very crucial. a pit would look cool doing a visual consisting of insane mallet hights, but when it comes to playing as a whole, "attacking" at the same time can be very risky. ive seen several high schools and even drum corps that add visuals to the shows. All im saying is that it can cause "dirt" to the show.

It could..but in some ways, depending on the visual, it could help clean up cold attacks for less experienced ensembles (i.e. conducting to the ensemble by pulsing the mallets, prepping, or nodding your head, visuals as a way to physically subdivide during rests, etc,).
