Ehh Row-loff isnt the only one providing some competition there's another company thats put out a soundfont using Yammies.

As long as the keyboard is MIDI capable, it will work just fine with Virtual Drumline.
Like you have already stated, a MIDI keyboard is not a requirement, but using one saves tons of time.
