Our plates will be warming up with us this year and I just wanted to know where they should be placed in our parking lot setup.(Our setup is the same as the Cavies).
Thanx

It really just depends on personal preference. Some lines have the cymbals behind the basses. Others with stronger cymbal lines will have the cymbal line behind the snares since thats where most people look. Where I teach at, we adjust the arc and place them beside the basses so that everyone is part of the line. Its also easier to tech that way. If they are behind someone else then its harder to see everything to make comments. That also depends on how much space we have during warm ups. If it is close quarters then they probably need to be behind another section.

There really is no set standard though. Do whatever works best for you and fits with the surroundings around you.
