I have no problem with a girl on the snare line. We have a girl on our snare, she's a freshman, and she's got a lot of potential. What I don't like is when the girls get cocky because they think all the guys have something against them.

My line isn't sexist, but many of the girls in my line think it is indeed, sexist. lol, JUST because all of us male people remembered to bring our shades, and we all took a picture together of it..yeah. I don't mean to offend anyone or anybody in anyway, but the girls on my line aren't that great. I don't know if it's just by coincidence, but there are 3 girls on my line that hardly ever practice, and it shows. There is, though, one girl that is pretty excellent at bass. There are also some guys that aren't that decent, but the majority of them are.

I would. Those are like the girls on my line. It's rather annoying...sometimes I wish they would be serious once in a while...*sigh*

As an instructor myself, I would prefer that you approach me and tell me about this situation before confronting the girl in your line. You have every right to being angry of whatever towards her for not having the same zeal for the program that you have, but wouldn't it be more mature of you to try and teach her what it is you care about and why you care about it so much? Possibly the reason for her acting this way is because she doesn't quite understand the fact that what you do means so much to you and your fellow line mates. This is something that we try to do immediately upon getting new people in the line because it is also very important to us that the feeling of pride remains in the drumline...

My percussion ensemble has never been sexist because if a female tries out for my line, they usually make it bacause they usually will do whatever it takes to make the line. Check out 2004, 05 Cadets, the chick is almost center snare!

If I'm not mistaken, she (Heidi) was the section leader in '05. And I think Erin Riggleman might've been the Bluecoats' center snare in '04.
