Hey guys, this is just a stupid survey asking if it's better marching in white marching shoes or black ones...Like in your uniform....I know black goes with all the dark colors and white with the light but still.

I have to wear white. But it doesn't really bother me. White or Black shoes don't really make a difference. It's more the brand I guess that makes either one better than the other.

Our band wears white shoes with black pants. The BDs say that the judges can see our "fancy footwork" better because it sticks out. But whatever.

Unless you're cool like Broken Arrow, they're the only band that I know of that wears both color shoes. Their uniform is half black and half white.. on the white side they wear a black shoe, and on the black uniform side the wear a white shoe. Looks sharp if you ask me.

that sounds neat. we wore white last year with white pants, but we will probably wear black this year since were getting black pants.

My home band wears black shoes, and the Lions Band wears white shoes. So I get both feelings..

White marching shoes are great if your marching program is spot on. The white shoes are a sharp contrast to the green fields which we march on. The white shoes are very unforgiving if your visual program is not up to snuff. Whereas black shoes blend more with the green field and are more forgiving. So the choice of footwear should reflect how well your group is marching and not so much on what colour is my uniform ect...

you took the words out of my mouth IronMan. the shoes really don't matter to me, but the fact that the white shoes show flaws in your marching gives a good reason why you gotta have the marching down pat.

We've worn white marching shoes since forever and a day. This year, we're wearing black. They're so much easier to take care of. All you have to do is white them down and you're good. With the white ones, you have to scrub them with a toothbrush and then put white shoe polish on it, and clean the laces. Gah! Oh, and if you step in mud right before a competition on accident () then it doesn't show up as bad.
