We usually have a drum break and the horns do weird steps and have hand flags.. it actually looks cool.

Our drum solo last year was called Sandstorm. It was a minute and a half of fast drill, complicated parts, lots of props, and thousands of screaming fans. At the end of the ballad, the entire drumline was in a tent. The pit had a brief transition part while we bent over. As the center snare began to "Dut", we hit the first note and the tent flew off. We rose to full stature and took off. Seeing and hearing the audience after coming out of the tent was the most awesome feeling.

Our Show last year was La Nouba and we Had a drum Solo in the middle of "Urban" it was about 2 measures per section. we crabbed sideways during the solo and the last beat would be the last step. On the other side of the field the horns were doing they're little spinning and such. All in all, It was pretty cool.

personally i think it all has to do with the show...last year, gami's drum feature was at the beginning of the 3rd movement, where we crabbed across the field doing backstick stuff. while in 03 the snares jammed on a cymbal rack, while the tenors bent forward i think? and the basses were behind the pit and during the cymbal rack groove the mallet players ran around the basses. it was cool, but as far as music...the 03 solo was just a little ditty for the line to play to segue sections, while in 04 we used the groove as an entire intro.

Last year we have 2 percussion breaks in our show. The were both awesome. We had a rack with toms and cymbals for the snares and tenors. We played a huge feature in the opener, we started off on our drums and than took them off and moved to the rack and played tons of splits and cool stuff on the rack. We also had a short one in the ballad in which we played on the rack with our drums on, that was really cool. while we do the features the rest of the band and guard are usually doing soe crazy visuals or drill.

one time the snare line broke off from the drumline and and went to the front line and crabbed to the right while leaning forward and playing on each others drums

our 05 show this year is a tribute to Star Wars. We're playing The Star Wars main Title, Princess Leia's Theme. Cantina Band (the percussion piece), and the Star Wars Finale... the Cantina band music is pretty cool..I like it atleast.

Our director took our break out this year, I'm so mad. It's always the most fun part of the show, even the rest of the band thinks so. We even had a feature when we only had a pit last year and it was still cool. And it's not like it wouldn't fit in the show either, we have 2 small 2-measure breaks so it's not like the music wouldn't flow if we had it. I think it's because she doesn't want the show to be too long, since our freakin' ballad is over 4 minutes long...about half of our show. So no drum break for us this year...my senior year...

Whatever Scoob, your lucky to hear such great tenor solos, don't complain about not having one (remember Mitch has a whole lot of visuals up his sleeve for the snare line)!
