Ive never had mine fall off, but I was playing tenors once at our feature parade at Disney World last February and my quads broke in half during the parade (near the end thank goodness :\ ). We had just gotten new carriers which came with new attachments to hold the drums together/on the carrier, and whoever put mine together must have done a sloppy job on the one that held the number 1 and 2 drums together. I was just marching and suddenly felt a pop and looked down to see the 2 and 4 drums falling foreword. I had to grab them and hold them together for the remainder of the parade. It was incredibly hard to play with one arm draped over the center of the drums lol.

Wow, this post has me feeling woozy... Here's my nightmare: It happened during lunch while I was practicing on my own. We have Yamaha Tenors, and I pick them up by the carrier when I put them on. Well, it just so happened that the J-bars weren't all the way into their slots. So I dropped the carrier onto my shoulders, The carrier stopped falling when it reached my shoulders. Unfortunately, the drums didn't. They fell forward and landed on the ground, right on drum 1. Now drum 1 has a crack in it's shell (but nobody has noticed because the wrap still looks flawless). Worse yet, I'm only a wannabe drummer (even though I'm the best drummer at my school), so the incident doesn't exactly advance our cause. My BD still doesn't know about this, so keep quiet...

Never have had anything like THAT happen, but I've seen a few bass drums go rolling...not during a show, though, only during practices. Thank goodness. Incidentally, I have seen someone fall over their drum, if that's an equivalent...our other tenor player had his drums off while practicing sets, backed into them and flipped over. Bent the shoulder bar on the harness 90º.

Some of these stories sound like they must have sucked when they happened. Fortunately enough, I've never had my tenors fall off or anything; however, at PAS last year, there was this school that had a tenor feature where they put their drums on stands and start doing a weaving thing (kind of cliche, but oh well) it was good until the last few bars, and one of the guys' foot caught the stand. Three of the four tenors fell. It was bad.

During our pre-competition show, I think it's BOA, the support bar that attaches the tenors to the carrier broke during the first minute of our 7 1/2 minute show. I had to carry them for the rest of the show and marching off the track. It wasn't fun, but I stayed in step and formation
