IMO, going to the chiropractor or taking (legal) drugs is going around the problem. Two things are possible: 1- The harness fits your in correctly. If you have Pearl equipment like my school, it's probably sucky and might be broke. Find a model online and make sure yours looks exactly like a new one does. My harness for indoor was a 'Frankenstien' harness, made of two extremely broke ones, and it broke at finals for a WGI regional... not fun when your playing bass 5.
2- You aren't strong enough. Now, I don't mean to be mean at all, but some people are more in shape than others. As chompchomp stated, stretch. It's the best thing you can do to make it easier.

Don't worry about it, dude. This is my first year Marching, and I'm playing Tenors as well. Just don't get scared. I used to never exercise, and I used to hunch over when I walked. Marching Band'll fix you right up real quick. The last thing you should do is get scared because of some drum/s. YOU march the drums, the Drums don't march you. You'll get used to the Tenors, even without a back brace (I did.). I suggest doing sit-ups and squats regularly.
(Toe, if you read this . . . stfu. )
