I was wondering if there were any history to why some rudiments have a right hand lead to them. I know a lot of the history of why we have rudiments but a student of mine asked the right hand lead question.

I don't know the offical answer to that question but my Band director told us that the reason most stuff has a right hand lead as you put it is because most people are right handed. But I don't know if thats the answer your looking for or not.
