Fire him Yourself.. If youre the section leader.. Just Tell Him Straight.."The line as a whole doesnt like the way you instruct us and quite frankly you're a drunk and you suck. Hop in your car take a few sips and dont come back until you clean yourself up." If that doesnt work Rebel. Dont listen to him, what can he do. If the line is that good Tell The Band Director its either him or the line. Let Everybody know you're not playing. Tell them how you truly feel. It Should work
Yeah, way to be.
Last time I checked, students can't fire teachers. And while you think "rebelling" makes you look like a badass, it just makes you look retarded.
Discuss it with your teacher, discuss it with your principal, discuss it with the administration, but don't take matters into your own hands.
(Also, how's he getting to school drunk... I doubt his mommy is dropping him off, and I doubt that he's drinking at school... so that means he's driving a motor vehicle to and from practice. Sweet.)

Yeah...students cannot "fire" instructors...you can tell him that you will not listen to anything he tells you to do, therefore bringing attention to your situation, and hopefully getting a staunch response from your unit, or director...

Take over. If he doesn't like what you are doing, then tell him he can change it if he can. If he is that drunk, then he will beat you up and go to jail. Haha. But seriously, you might as well move the things in the direction that you want it to go. If you are inexperienced, talk to the other drumliners in you area for some suggestions or check out some drum corp videos.

Our pit instructor was a stoner, but everyone liked him. Just tell him to stop drinking and to start smoking weed. But in all seriousness, I would certainly tell the school board. I don't think they want a drunk teaching kids like that.

Don't rebel. It'll just make the situation worse and will create a stigma in your other players head that "Hey, I dont like this new guy, 'lets rebel and he'll leave!"
Otherwise, talk to the director or someone else in charge. Have them observe them. Hopefully that will solve your problem. But on looking back on your post, it says nothing about this guy being a drunk - so how do you know he is?
