For my ensemble/front, everyone has to two pieces of music for an audition to see how you have improved. I already have a snare piece picked out, but I am looking for a four mallet marimba piece to play. It would be nice if a recording is available on CD/online. Some music which I have played:
Rain Dance, Yellow After the Rain, Suite Moderne for Marimba.
Im looking for like a level 5 piece to play. Preferably not something rediculously long like Rhythm Song or Rondo Capricio. Preferably in the 4-7 minute range. No hurry here, just post any suggestions you have.

Well I found a recording of Yellow After the Rain online a long while back but it just takes time to actually do that. If you want a recording your best bet is to google it. It takes time but if you really want it you can find it online.

I know that the Yellow recording was at a website called Kukane or something like that.

If you want something "flashy" but within reach of beginning mallet lit. than Check out:
Etude in C major: Clair Musser
Etude in B major:Clair Musser
Restless: Rich O'Meara
Leyenda: Isaac Albeniz arr. Rebecca Kite (There are other arrangements of this guitar peice but if you're going to get the Rebecca Kite arrangement than get "Anthology of Lute and Guitar Music" . It has snugglebunny of different Guitar/Lute transcriptions for the same price as just getting that peice by it's self

Recordings:
Etude in C major: Clair Musser (Prism by RebeccaKite or Velocites by Greg Giannascoli )
Etude in B major:Clair Musser (Velocites by Greg Giannascoli)
Restless: Rich O'Meara (Marimba Spiritual by Katarzyna Mycka)

Yellow After the Rain is a pretty common audition piece.

I usually have my students avoid things that are well known to better insure a non-bias opinion from the audience. In my experience, if the listener has a piece in their head and you stray from that in any way, it can work against you greater than it should with something lesser known.

However, I have heard many variations of Yellow dynamic wise. It really depends on how you play it.

Thanks for the suggestions, but, by the way, I have until march to learn this piece, so it can be more challenging then anything I've played before.
